NORTON-BASED The Academy Hair and Beauty training centre is set to become a beacon to others after setting the standard in the industry.
It is one of only six in the country to be recognised by Skills Minister David Lammy MP as a High Flying Training Centre at an award ceremony at Westminster hosted by the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA).

The MP praised The Academy for doing a magnificent job in helping learners of all ages to achieve their full potential. He said “Beacon Status is public recognition of that excellent performance”.

The Academy will now be responsible for promoting excellence throughout the sector, helping other colleges and providers to raise their performance.

Lindsay Burr, Academy Director, said “We are very proud to become a Beacon and hope to share our expertise with others.

“Thanks go to all The Academy team who worked hard achieving Grade 1 status from Ofsted which in turn led to us gaining this award.”
