VISITORS to the WRVS Centre in Pickering are sitting pretty – thanks to a county councillor.
Cllr Greg White donated more than £1,200 from his Ryedale Area Com-mittee charitable fund to help replace and repair 40 chairs and four armchairs, following an appeal from centre manager Sue Clark.

Sue said the chairs have met with "universal approval" from the centre's users.

"It is money well spent," she added. "The seats have been covered and look absolutely splendid. It is going to make a difference to getting more groups in to use the centre."

It is hoped another six arm chairs will be arriving soon pending successful grant applications.
